Come and be part of this very special
event.
It is guaranteed to be a weekend
we’ll long remember: Sofer (Torah scribe) Neil
Yerman has repaired two of CABI’s Torah scrolls and will
spend the weekend with CABI to complete and rededicate
them.
It will be a weekend of activities and fun for
adults, teens, and children. Sofer Yerman is an
artist, a Torah specialist, an enthusiastic educator,
and an accomplished klezmer clarinetist. The full
range of his talents will bring new life to our
understanding and appreciation of our sacred scrolls.
So, set aside time to celebrate, learn, be inspired,
eat, have fun, pray, and dance! Here’s the
schedule:
Friday
6:00
Tot Shabbat Dinner and program, where Neil will lead a
physical, Torah-related activity for children
7:30
Erev Shabbat service, where Neil will do a d’var Torah
on “Getting to Know our Torah Scrolls”
Saturday
10:00 Teen-led Shabbat morning service,
where Neil will do a d’var Torah connected to the
parashah
Noon Dairy Pot-luck “Lunch & Learn,” a
go-with-the-flow session, where Neil will answer
whatever questions you might want to ask
7:30
Neil’s presentation on “Kabbalistic Underpinnings of
Letters,” followed by Havdalah and nosh, hosted by John
Barnet and Jeannette Bowman
Sunday

Muffins and Milk if you’re here early! Religious
school, where Neil will interact first with grades K-3,
followed by a fun sleuthing program for 4th grade
through adults
Noon Beautifully catered
lunch
1:00 Finishing and
dedicating the scrolls in the sanctuary, with music,
tradition, and the chance to witness a sacred process
many of us may never see again
Followed by music and
dancing in the social hall, with Sofer Neil Yerman
joining Shlomo and Victoria Kostenko, CABI’s own
klezmers!
