Community and Membership
I am pleased to settle into my new role
as the Community and Membership Committee chair. I am most fortunate to follow
former chair Suzanne Metzgar and am deeply appreciative of her high level of
organization, initiative, and helpful good cheer! Thank you, Suzanne!
Recent Community and Membership Committee events include a fun evening at a
Hawks game, organized by Stan Speizer. Nearly 20 CABI baseball fans gathered to
cheer on our home team. My husband Greg and I enjoyed the game and time with
friends!
Victoria Thompson, with the help of Deanah Messenger, has spearheaded a fabulous
new CABI program, Movies and Midrash. Thank you, Victoria and Deanah! The first
event drew a CABI crowd to The Flicks to view “A Mighty Heart,” preceded by a
discussion led by Rabbi Dan. Look for Victoria’s article on upcoming Movies and
Midrash events. You won’t want to miss out.
I am currently working to build a committee of fun, helpful, and hardworking
folks to help with various Community and Membership Committee activities. We
will meet on the second Monday of each month, from 7-8 p.m., beginning September
10. Roles include helping with holiday celebrations and meals, planning social
events, organizing our Havurah program, assisting with administrative jobs, and
more! Give me a holler for more information and to volunteer your time.
