Adult Education Programs
Adult Education Volume 1
While I won’t be writing a regular column, I will be updating you as to what
is happening with Adult Education as needed.
That brings me to the reason for this message: While we have not worked out
specifics as to times and days, Howard Berger will again be teaching his
“History of the Jewish People-from the Maccabees to Woody Allen” this fall.
Also, Leslie Drake’s niece (and Jeanie and Cal McGillis’s granddaughter) will be
here during the High Holidays. Shanie was born and raised in Israel and will be
speaking to the congregation about her experiences in the Israeli military,
border crossing experiences, growing up in Israel, Israeli teen culture, and
other topics that may be of interest. Specific times and dates will be
forthcoming.
This is my rookie year as Adult Ed. Chair. I may be flying by the seat of my
pants or the fringes of my tallis, whichever the case may be. If any of you have
ideas or specific requests, please contact me, and I will be happy to pass them
on to the next Adult Ed. Chair. (Just kidding!) I’ll be happy to follow up.
