CABI Scrip Arline Winkler
Since the Scrip Program is new to our congregation, I would
like to explain what Scrip is and how it benefits all of us. Scrip is basically free money for the synagogue. You are
raising funds for CABI while you don’t spend one additional penny. It doesn’t
cost you a thing—and CABI and its many programs benefit. Here’s how it works. You purchase Scrip from the synagogue for
the businesses you already frequent. You get a gift card for the amount you
paid—you carry your card with you to those particular businesses. You decide to
buy items; you pay with the Scrip gift card and the amount is deducted from the
total amount of credit you have on that card; you are free to use the rest of
the amount left at a future time. So how does CABI make money? When the card is purchased, each
business rebates a percentage of the face value of that card back to the
synagogue. The percentages range from 1˝ to 18 percent.
Merchants make money because you are shopping in their store. How do you buy Scrip? You can print or save the order form
further down on this page. (You'll need Adobe Reader to open this) You can fill
out the form and mail it to me along with your check made payable to CABI;
within a few days you’ll have your Scrip.
Or if you are headed up to the Education Center on Sunday
Morning, you can drop off an order form with a check and
pick up your scrip the very next Sunday.
This is one of the easiest ways to do mitzvot on an ongoing
basis. A lot of money is raised for CABI programs in this way. Please join us by
purchasing Scrip.
