Chicken Soup Group
Pettra Pollack and Mandy Silman-Herbert
The
Chicken Soup Group is truly amazing. It helps congregants who are sick,
just
had a baby or a death in the family, or need help for whatever reason. The
intent is to look out for members.
Here is how it works. We provide meals, rides, and visits.
Each month the group is managed by a different volunteer, fondly known as the
head hen. Pettra Pollack is available for questions and back up.
Chai Lights will publish the head hen each month along
with contact information. But if you need help and can’t remember who is in
charge, email or call Kat at the CABI office, and she will forward it to the
right person. After the head hen is notified, she or he will send out a group
email stating who needs assistance. Those who can help email back.
We
are always looking for new volunteers to
join
us in this great mitzvah. It's an easy way to volunteer because your involvement
is up to you, and can fit your schedule. The program is truly
one
of the best things about our congregation.
A complete schedule will be posted here soon.
